Anyone know why there are so many slabs with this cloudy look to them? Is it an attempt to polish them that went wrong? Do some polish jobs go bad at a later time or deteriorate?

But I haven't seen very many cloudy ones out there in the marketplace.

yes, acetone will dissolve plastic
I did that ONCE also
Try PlastX by Meguiars, car stores have it
You can also use Brasso , another polish recommended for slab polishing

I use rubber cement thinner to remove stickers. I learned this years ago when I used rubber cement
thinner to remove stickers from CD cases and other plastic items. It is a mild solvent that will not mar
or melt plastic. I buy it at nice office supply stores, art supply stores, and hobby stores like Michaels.
Thanks,
